On the recent trip to LA for some meetings (and a lil fun), we met some pretty cool peeps that work for Google. Listening to all the perks and what they thought of the job was incredibly interesting and made us think about how we work with each other internally. Google’s stance:
HAPPY EMPLOYEES = PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYEES
We listened to the Google people chat about on-campus meals, options to work from home, leniency on sick/time off days and just an all-round great atmosphere. Here’s the catch… not every job is glamorous at Google. Some of the positions could be considered glorified call center jobs. BUT… because the employees have so many other perks to keep them happy, they stay and are productive at their jobs. Decreasing turn-over within a corporate environment is HUGE!
At AMG, we have decided to let our designers and employees have the freedom they need to do their best work. Why force a programmer come in to an office at 8am if they do their best work from 11pm – 3am? No one wants to be with someone at an office that doesn’t want to be there…
So, while we aren’t Google, we hope to provide a great working environment for all our employees at AMG. We hope more companies (big and small) take the first step to making happier employees as well.
Cheers!
